1. Something suggesting travel or passage from one place to another.

I have found, as I continue to travel through life, that not everything is black and white, and not everything is as it seems. There is not always a simple answer for why things play out in the way that they do, nor is there always a clear cause and effect. Sometimes there is absolute clarity in the chaos, and other times there is complete devastation in the stillness.

The entire journey of life is predictable in only that it is completely unpredictable. Sometimes we think that we have it all figured out; that there is a path and a plan that we can follow and it will lead to success. But what, pray tell, is success anyway? How do you choose what path it is that you want to follow? And what happens if you are on your path and realize that this was not actually what you wanted at all? Have you wasted your time and it was all for naught? Or what happens when you have followed the plan that you drawn out for yourself only to find that you don’t like the outcome? Now what?

Welcome to the twists, turns, speed bumps and pot holes of life. This is where I have found myself most recently. Nearing 30, I figured that by now, I would have it together… whatever “it” is. I had thought that once I reached my third decade on this Earth, that I would have made some huge impact on the world by now; that my name would be known and that I would have made a difference. Realizing that I had ended up on a stretch of the road that seems to be full of these speed bumps and pot holes, I decided that the best way to enjoy the journey would be to take each turn with stride, and learn from the obstacles. This is my journey. This is my travel journal, if you will, and you are now along for the ride. I hope that as you come along with me as I navigate this adventure, that you will be able to take from it, exactly what you need for your own journey, and I hope that you are able to learn from my journey as well.
